I'm a bit confused as to weather I should Get the Port or the POD.

I'm only going to be doing computer recording, I know a L6PORT will do just fine for computer only recording.

How does it work with multitrack software? do you set it up to record on a track or do you just play along with a mix and the dump the wav file in after? I'm a bit confused. If anyone can help explain it or point me to another thread it would be greatly welcomed.

Thank you.

If I recall correctly, the port has to be hooked up to the internet, no? I believe that they charge you for your tiem on it, unless I'm thinking of something else. If we're thinking of the same thing, I was strongly advised to never look at the guitar port. Ever.

If I'm totally wrong, feel free to kick me in the balls.

Prepare to be kicked in the balls.;) The Guitarport is basically a USB soundcard. It allows you to record to your multi-track software through the USB or the analog outs. It does not require you to be hooked up to the internet unless you want to download amp settings.

Thanks guys. Upon further research of Line 6's site, I decided to buy the Toneport. I have not purchased it yet but unless I hear something totally negative I'm pretty much going in that direction.
