line 6 and variax

i just searched about this, but the question wasnt really answered. on the line 6 website, they use variax acoustics and variax electrics. if i brought the ux1 toneport, would using a miced up acoustic and a prs se soapbar plugged into the toneport affect the sound?

what i mean is is the software and toneport designed for variaxes?

Your question is not terribly clear. Do you mean, if you plug some other guitar into the TonePort, is that equivalent to using the Variax, and can you get all the Variax models? The answer is no. The TonePort gives you a preamp, amp models, and effects (like a POD) but the guitar models are built in to the Variax guitars.

can't see it.................especially being a PRS as Alchuck pointed out it's a preamp that you can run pretty much anything you want through

it will sound just as good or better, assuming you have a good guitar and micing skills (acoustic).
