Posted this earlier, but I've added some electric guitar and percussion, and re-worked the vocals. Any tips on the mix would be appreciated.

Big improvement - traditionally folk would pop the rap in after some singing so that it's a change & the mind has a melody to hang onto with some subliminal support.
Nevertheless a worthy improvement - the dude'd have to be happy with the result.

Ray,

Thank you. Your opinion is very much valued. Your feedback is always spot on.

I really like this one mate. I differ from Ray slightly and I hope you don't see the following as an insult dude but, as rapping goes...the rap is pretty average...it's mostly the delivery but, your singing totally makes up for this as you have a great voice. If the rap came after the singing(and this is where I differ from Ray)...it wouldn't back your voice up but because your rap comes first...the singing carries the rap...if that makes sense?

I love that piano note you're adding and the guitar sounds great too though it could maybe be a little louder but only a touch.

You have got the vocal absolutely spot on mix wise and it is pure, clear and tonally great. If you could get a pro to deliver your rap or if you could at least deliver it with more attitude...this would be one hell of a track. As I say, the rap isn't bad...but it doesn't stand up to your quality vocal IMO.

Marty,

Thanks for your feedback. I appreciate it. I'm actually not the singer, just mixing and adding a few things here and there. I've actually tried to get the singer to quit rapping and just sing. I think it would be better overall, but it's his music, so there's not much I can say about it.

oOps...I can't believe I jumped to conclusion there. When I first starting posting here I told myself to remember to check that the OP was actually the artist...but most people on here are artist/tracker/producer and ME and it's easy to forget this rule. :)

So, from a mix point of view only...you've got it spot on mate IMO, though I would just like that guitar a touch louder but that's only if I really wanted to find somat to comment on. ;)

Marty,

No problem. By the way, he insists that it's not "rapping". He calls it "spoken word". That's probably why as rap it's not great, since he's not really trying to rap.

I didn't listen any of previous versions but this one is sounding really good. Here at my work place I use an old stereo for reproduction of any sound what comes from my PC. It is not the best rig but much better than any of those tinny PC-speakers. Your sound is very PROF. Nice song too!
