on a side note, how well do teh 603s work as over heads? i hear some people love them, others say they have a harsh high end.

Your drum recording in the MICROPHONE forum sounds really damn good, buddy. I didn't post in there becasue I have a thing about not posting in that section. But I'm glad I have an opportunity to tell you here. You mentioned that you forgot to reverse the polarity on the bottom snare mic, and the snare STILL sounds awesome.

Nice looking drums you got, too.

rami, thanks alot for the kinda words its nice to hear that you still like the snare sound haha. but ya flipping the bottom mic would have made it better. im sure new skins wouldn't hurt either haha but i don't have the money right now

BEAUTIFUL setups you have man!

I use mxl 603's in a Recorderman setup and love 'em... No 'icepicks' or harshness at all

Natural maple is a beautiful thing.... and i demand you tell me where you got those lugs! allstar? I love the tube lug look, but those seem so nice and beefy. it looks great! You aren't by chance a member at the drumshed are you?

yes we did, sir! that's one sharp memory you've got there. that snare is still amazing me day after day. such a nice crack to it.

What are the sizes on those? and how's that little kick sound?

Snare is 3.5x12, toms 8x10, 11x13, and 14x16 for the kick. I guess the way to describe the sound is articulate; lots of attack and just enough thump. I hope to do a bit of recording so I'll post soundfiles in a few weeks... =)

small bass drums need a lift, so the beater doesn't hit them too high.
