OK, I know the clinic is for technical postings, and songwriting clinic is for musical issues, but when I posted over there, I got a technical review, so maybe you guys could do I musical review. It's nothing but a rough mix, and I have a lot of work to do to the instruments, because they're all computer synthesized. I just don't know if this is a good overall song. That's what I really need to know before I pay to copyright it.

Speedy Speed Girl / Dustin Werner w/ Alyse Bensel

I definitely appreciate it, and thanks. I can't say how valuable this forum and the opinions of the people in it have been with my music.

 I'm not one to judge, as I'm not the greatest of artists myself. But, since you asked for honesty, I didn't like it at all. The vocals were off in lots of places. Highs need to be tuned WAY down. wrong choice of snare in spots. I don't know if the lyrics are meant to be humorous or whatever, but I didn't like them.

Eh. No offense, I just didn't like it, at all. Either A. not my type of music, whatever type of music it is. Or B. I just seriously don't like it.

Needs lots of work imho.

Good luck.

Thats one crazy song.

The drums are mostly disturbing.

The little synth is distracting, but could be worked.

The sitar sound was cool

The chick sounds like she can sing, but her following the little synth melody made me want to turn off the song immediately.

Good luck with it!

Dude.

That was fucking hillarious!!!!!

Brilliant!!

Im soo00 rocking this in the car tommorow.

I think its pretty cool, it just needs to be a better recording. Anything like this has to be NAILED to be effective. The vocals really need to be lined up, the drums need a better snare sample, etc. Reminds me of the B-52s.

I think this is very unique and interesting. The talking/rapping followed by the girl singing is a good idea. I like it when you add some melody to a rap. The keyboard patch hits me two different ways. First it sets the cool mood up for the song but second it is a little grating. Some eq or possibly a different patch might be better. The asian flavor to the singing is cool too. I think as mentioned above, the ideas are good, it might just need some polish on the sounds of the keyboard and drums...

:) :D :) :D

I listened to it again, when I was more "awake" and "aware". I still can't feel it...I don't know if it's just not my type, but I just can't feel it...to me it seems like everything was just slapped all together in one big shot, and thrown up for people to listen to.

I dunno man, I just don't like it. I wish you the best of luck, I want to hear the final copy if you get it done, then I'll see if I like it or not. Not that my opinion matters a whole heck of a lot, but yea.

Good luck bruh.

so what inspired this?

This has been sitting on my hard drive for about a year, waiting for the right time to record my own vocals to my satisfaction, and the right female vocalist. Now that it is arranged, I go into my favorite part.

MIXING!!!

By the way, this is such a strong reaction, and love it or hate it, I appreciate every bit of praise/criticism I recieve. I love you guys, though not in a gay way. really...

I dont believe you. I think you DO love us in a gay way :D

I appreciate anything outside the box. The song is quirky and fun. Fix the drums and get a better patch before you mix anything, that should be fairly easy to do.

I like the oriental-meets-western-culture thing here.

Agreed. Being outside-the-box is the best thing about the mp3 clinic, as a general trait.

The drumset sound is the weak link here. Also, the female vocal gets shrill at points (3-4 kHz), but nothing a multiband comp couldn't easily tame.
