some of you might notice the odd coloring of the tolex and grill cloth on the 53 fender deluxe. this amp originally belonged to the father of my stepdad's childhood friend. he bought it new to play reel to reel tapes through and he was also an upholsterer by trade. he recovered it to fix some tolex dings, i believe in the 60's(hints the color). my stepdad's friend gave it to him a few years ago and he then gave it to me. GREAT sounding amp.

All your studios are rubbish compared to mine!!!!

Check out the top notch monitors and acoustic treatment..

Alas

No I don't have any good idea either that's why I'm going to record other people! lol...

Well I finally got a couple pics so I hope they post now LOL just my small area my room is 16W X 18L and the bass traps I just finished yesterday. Wifey says she even noticed a difference since putting them into place.

finally got the bass traps finished and in all 4 corners of the room now it's time to start with some broadband panels to sneak in when the wife aint lookin. LOL I guess that's the downfall when your trying to use your living room as a studio.

I've seen some guys who could come up with a fantastic end product with not much more than that. Don't let anybody tell you it's impossible. I figure that I have probably $70,000 worth of equipment and acoustic treatment in my room, which makes it a lot *easier* to mix a record, but I could do it with a whole lot less.

Just got in from Wal-Mart had to get me a couple of tall lamps to place in the corners behind the bass traps now the wife is getting easy to deal with since they are becoming decorative as well HAHAHAHAHA

Cool

Cool thanks man nice to hear some positivity!!!! I intend to get some damn good
recordings done.. P.S I do have a better studio than this its not all together in one place thats all lol

Wow looking over this thread shows me my setup is severely lacking in the lava lamp department.

What are the acoustical properties of a lava lamp? Also would two lamps double the effect? Is placement on the monitors necessary?

Here's a shot of a Auditronics 710 I'm currently restoring.

Hi All,

I finally got it all together!! I built some panels! Yippy!!! My space sounds so much better. I had an issue finding inexpensive fabric, but i found something that was not too tightly wooven. Vocals sound so much better... even without the use of the SE Electronics filter. I've been experimenting with recording various positions in the room. I'm thinking I need one more on the right side wall...there's a wall space that's close to the right speaker. Only thing i hate is that i don't have enough room 11X11 is small... can't fit a small sofa for people to sit down. I'm also needing to build some bass traps...to kill some of the boom from those KRK 5's...

So I've been meaning to post my "studio" here for going on 4 years now...I figure better late than never right? It's pretty humble but I can't complain. And don't make fun of me for the foam on the walls I was young and stupid and naive when I glued that sh*t up, been slowly taking it down for years... Without further ado...

A look in through the door. Not much room in here...

I see you have a Behringer V-Verb, which is only the BEST reverb out there for $99! I love mine. Can I make fun of you for the two boat-anchor CRT monitors? :D
