I think the idea fits the song ok - good tone for an EPI. It shows what you can get out of a guitar when you know what you're doing. Looking foward to the finished product...

Since I pretty much blow at all things guitar, I'll be sending you a song or two if you wanna give em a go....

:)

The solo is pretty badass. I don't like the tone though. Too dry for the mix IMO. Add some reverb and ease up on the wah wah. This sounds very 80's and the solos had lots of reverb.

BTW, the vocals remind alot of Queensryche

I like it Ed. I like the sustain at about 00:48 too....but must you be such a wah wanker..? ;)

I don't record with effects for lead guitar. If he wants to add delay/reverb, he can.

Started well but turned into a full-on wanking session ... sounds like you can really play Ed so why not miss out half of those notes in the middle and make the rest sound a bit nicer? ;)

Which notes shall I remove?

Every other one. Then just round the remaining notes off to the nearest one actually found in the tonic major scale ... i.e. only use notes that have anything to do with the key you're playing in. You can keep a minor 3rd (blue note) and dominant 7th if you like though.

How about you take a stab at that to show me an example! ;)

I'm not a great guitar player and I don't think a classical piano solo is going to fit into this hair metal ;)
