Great White North Girl
I was given a gibson les paul goddess for my birthday this summer. it seems like a great guitar to me. the best one i've ever had, but i was wondering if anyone else had tried them and compared them to the other les pauls. i have a studio here as well, and i think my goddess is better, but i wonder what others think.

??

I've never played one, Nicole, but I have seen them listed on the Gibson web site. To me it looks comparable to a Studio but that's just from what I'm reading.

Is is lighter in weight than the Studio?

yes it is lighter than the studio, (but not by a whole lot). which is a blessing. man those guitars are heavy.

What a lucky girl you are!

I noticed the Gibson "Goddess" page says "reduced body size." That's probably the only difference.

Ok, bring it on..... :p
Wouldn't that be like selling one of your kids?...errr I mean harem?

Why not keep it and still buy a Strat? :D

yes i am a lucky girl :) it's not everyone that would buy such a present for a birthday but my gf is wonderful.

Last night my wife, oldest daughter, and I were discussing whether or not to send daughter on a dance studio field trip to NY City for spring break.

My comment: "Hell, I could buy another guitar for that kind of money!" :D

I needn't tell you how that went over. :o

Here is some info on the Goddess and the Studio...actual specs on them...although I see no weight. That may be specified somewhere in retail shipping prices.

The Goddess

And here are Specs on the studio for comparison.

i'd aleady seen those spec true, but thanks anyway. i never found a weight anywhere. i'm glad it's smaller though cause it's plenty heavy as it is, and the studio is worse.

Tell me anyway Zaphod!! :D :D

I notice on the Gibson Goddess the saddle/bridge and the tail piece (Wrap-around) are all in one as opposed to the seperate saddle/bridge and stop tail piece (Tune-o-matic) of the Studio's, Customs etc.

I think that the Goddess has a chambered body which cuts down on the weight. That was a great present to receive from that special person!! :D

so do the studio's and standards. the goddess is probably lighter than her studio because of the slightly smaller body.
