I'd think that classical, or any conventional fingerpicking style, with thumb playing bass and fingers treble/melody, would be out. Flatpicking shouldn't be much different though.
How about chording - I'd think some of the conventional righty chords wouldn't be feasible upside down on the neck.
The upside would be, that for a person with determination and innovation, new styles could be invented that righties couldn't emulate.
have we all forgotten about dick dale? when leo fender gave him his new guitar the stratocaster dale didnt know what to think of it and started playing it upside down and leo fender fell on the floor laughing. dick countinues to play with an upside down right hand strat with the strings strung regularly so high e is on top and low e on bottem. dale learned the chords upside down and he created a very innovative style of guitar playing called surf.
