learning to mix with DFHS (or BFD)

Are the sounds that come with DFHS or BFD like raw and unprocessed? I wanted to learn how to mix real drums, but I only have roland sampled sounds, and they are mostly ready to mix and just add reverb. All the EQ, compression and other effects besides reverb are already added, so I can't really learn much about mixing real drums.

So, I thought I heard the sounds from DFHS or BFD were unprocessed and you have to go in there and do all that stuff manually, or you have the option to or something. Is that correct?

i have DFHS and all the sounds are completely dry, unaffected samples.
