Damned if I do
I finally had the time to record a cover of the Buckaroo Banzai theme. Half the fun was in deconstructing the original which was chock full of 80's synth sounds. Luckily my Korg X5D was up to the task. I added a real bass to support the synth bass, so this version is not entirely faithful. But it was fun to do anyway!

Buckaroo.

Don't know that I recall the original...but this sounds pretty good to me. How'd you process the drums? They really fit this well.

Nice job....Monkeyboy.... :D

I put this together in Acid Pro 4. Kick and snare are oneshots, hihat is a loop, handclaps were played on my keyboard for about 8 measures then duplicated. and the gong is from the Korg. A little eq on the kick (boost around 85, cut around 300) and a light touch of reverb on all but the hihats and gong.

Never heard the orignal, but this sounded very 80`s :)

nice work man. :)

Very cool, I dont know the original either. :o That Korg does pretty darn good for an older Keyboard, sounds very good. Nice variety of synth sounds on this one.

Works best with Quicktime, I think....

I too have never heard the original. Yes, very '80'ish but I had a good time in the '80's so I don't mind. Very good mix, no complaints.

I'm not sure if I know this, but it sounds vaguely familiar. Everything sounds good though. Maybe could use a little more kick.

Pretty cool though. :)
