I just bought this $600 NZ soundcard (TerraTec EWX 24/96)thinking latency wouldnt be a prob... but when i plug my keyboard into the PC and using micrologic to sequence my music I get a LATENCY prob >.<

i want to record some music but the music that comes out of my pc is about a quarter of a second behind the music that comes out of my keyboard >.<

I cannot record anything with this prob...
i have tried a lot of settings but it still persists....maybe i need to do something with my BIOS settings? i have no idea how to do that .....
anyone help ???

T___T

this happened to me when I was using the free version of protools. I corrected it by going to my platback engine and adjusting my buffer size to a higher setting.

I also have a Terratec EWX 24/96 card, you can sort the latency issues out from the control panel. You need to decide which drivers to use with your software, if you use the ASIO drivers, you can improve the latenct by selecting a smaller buffer size from the ASIO panel (you can get to this via the ASIO button on the contol panel), depending on which version of SW you are using for the control panel, you may also have a DMA Buffer Transfer Latency button also.
The EWX 24/96 is a good card which allows you to record up to 96khz/24 bit, if you're burning any music to CDs you should be OK using the default 44100/16bit option, also higher sound resolutions are not really necessary of recording electronic equipment.
Let me know how you get on, I've tested the card using Cakewalk Sonar, the default setting to give bad latency, but if you reduce the ASIO buffer size you can get a perfect response time for keyboard use
