Late delay?

Everytime when I record something thru the comp (Guitar-->Amp>Comp or Guitar--->Mic>Comp), it doesnt have the right time to record it. For instance, the 1st track I used to record was mainly riff. On the second 2nd track, I used it for just messing around with solos, but it gets the signal 2 seconds later... which sounds terrible and out of beat...Any thoughts?

what kind of soundcard are you using? be sure you are using WDM or ASIO based drivers insted of the MME ones and set your buffers as low as you can before your aduio program crashes (this takes a bit of noodling. ).
