Title says it all! I took back the JBL LSR25Ps, and picked up the KRK V6s.

Wow, what a difference! This is what monitors should sound like. I'm not saying the JBLs are bad, they just didn't sound the way I thought they should.

In my opinion the KRKs offer much nicer imaging and accurate detail (I'm hearing things in recordings that even headphones don't reveal). Things that are supposed to focused dead center, are dead center (and upfront), and things that belong outside and/or behind the standard listening field are where they belong. It's like the speakers aren't even here, and I'm just listening to music. Bass is not hyped, and they roll off natually. Actually, these KRKs sound a lot like the custom speakers I built for my main listening/HT system (which took me months to tweak).

After listening for 3 hours, at relatively high levels (85-90db) I don't suffer from any ear fatigue, and I'm only stopping to grab a bite to eat (which I forget to do when I'm involved in this stuff)

I read a review that said these speakers have a typical KRK sound (whatever that's supposed to mean), and the reviewer claimed that they sound great on certain types of music and okay on others. I find this theory to be total BS. After 3 hours of listening to every type of music I own, the only thing these speakers revealed, is that there are good/great recordings, and not so good recordings. The speakers had no influence on this fact, as I knew which ones were bad, and found out just how much better some of them were than I originally thought.

Those of you in the market for low to mid priced monitors should give serious consideration to the KRK V6s (and the V8s for that matter, as Bruce will attest to). For me, there is basically no learning curve (because they sound so much like my main speakers), but for those of you who are used to speakers that have hyped midbass and less detail, you will thank yourself for giving these a shot, and you'll find out what you've been missing.

I'll get down off my soapbox now, and return you to your regularily scheduled program already in progress.

Haven't heard the V6s -- but I sure am loving my V8s!
