I am almost settled on the rp-5 but wanted to throw this question out there for feedback.
Will going up 1" in woofer size and 25watts in power from the rp-5 to the rp-6 really make that much of a difference? Will the added bass actually be harmful to my mix in terms of translating?
Also, I know that the VII series are better than the rokits, but are the VII4s a better buy for a 11x11 home studio?? My main concern is the subwoofer. I will be recording rock mostly ( acoustic guitar, electric guitar, vocals, bass, drums, keys ) will this sized speaker be able to accurately reproduce the low end of the acoustic guitar and bass guitar and drums effectively or will they not be able to handle those frequencies in excess? I noticed that, while smaller in woofer size, the VII4s actually have 15 more watts than the rp-5s do.
I guess the main question should be....rp-6 or vII4 since they are both the same price. but also include for cost benefits, the rp-5
Thanks guys.
