I am a total noob to recording, and have basically no equiptment. I am using my Ipod audio in to record from drums, vocals and amps (using another Ipod as a monitor). The Ipod records .wav files, and in spite of my poor recording equiptment, they actually sound pretty good.

I downloaded kristel audio driver on a reccomendation from a friend, and was all ready to go, but whenever I import one of the wav's it imports at something like X4 speed - the music is way sped up and really high.

Any tips on getting kristel running, or reccomendations of better *free* software?

Thanks in advance.

I have never used it but I believe Audacity is a free recording program...you might check that out.

You need to find out what the sample rate is on the i-pod and match it up in KAE (kystal audio engine) and then it should play at the right speed.

Cater is right. check those thing first. You may want to try other wav files in your HD just to check. If those can be imported without any problem with speed then its the ipod file that need checking.

Thanks to all.

I also recorded some wav's with windows sound recorder, and they came out sounding like micky mouse as well.

What is the best way to change the sampling rate on a wav? I can't change the Ipod recording sample rate, so is there a way to convert it, or a way to change the sample rate of the Kristel progect?

Also if you wish to change the operating sample rate of Kristal, click Engine > Preferences > Audio Setup.
