i know they have a joystick to tweak sounds but is it possible to tweak in real time or do you get some clipping?

i was worried that it would clip/cutoff if you were tweaking it without the joystick. I loved all the knobs on my old poly six but i think this might be a good substitute, i really miss my poly six.

sorry about that, i was just informed by the guy selling it that it would not clip. i just hope he's true to his word because i won't be able to test it before i buy it.

I just missed one of these on Craigs list here in the KC area...and then the dumbass left the ad up after he sold it.

Those things have alot of cool sounds.

they do, i'd prefer a working poly 6 but they are impossible to find in my area.

how much was he selling it for? the one im buying is 200 Canadian.

cheers arcaxis, i was just looking at some of those, seems to be fine with on the fly stuff.

darrin, that was a good score, im sure another would come up. i saw in another thread of yours that you might sell your mono/poly, why the heck would you want one of these!?

Well it ends up the Monopoly might get me enough to score a used u87...and I have a Korg DW8000 and I thought it would be a nice complement.

darrin that 8000 is a beast!

my poly 6 was having tunning issues (among other issues), does you mono/poly have the same issue of not staying in tune? any luck selling it yet?

Yes it is...lol.
I was never that good at Analog synths...I remember my first digital...it was an Akai AX80...it was like when they came out with windows OS...I could use one of those...lol.

the guy selling it, whom i missed hooking up with on friday has now mentioned that someone is offering $350 for it now :(

i was going to get it for $200......

"cries"

The Korg Poly-61 was my first synth, which I subsequently sold and then spent 9 years trying to find another. I'm in Canada - located one at an auction in Wisconsin years ago - won the auction and had it shipped up to me. Ahhh. The only trouble with it is the plastic joystick is gone so I've just got the metal threaded stub to work with. Wish I could locate another stick. Somebody actually mailed me one once but the mail routing machines must have ate it as there was a hole in the envelope.

As to being able to tweak the sound realtime via midi, I'll have to try tomorrow ... it's been a while since I integrated that synth into a song.
