hey guys, i just registered, woohoo.

ok, so with a Korg D8 8track recorder, (here's the official page, http://www.korg.com/gear/info.asp?A_PROD_NO=D8 ), what is the best computer program that i can buy to take the music i record on this thing and put it onto the computer so that i can make it into an mp3, or just be able to put it on a cd? i've heard program names like, wavelab, cakewalk and dazzle, but there are a bunch of different versions of each of them and i don't know what i need specifically.

haha, sorry if this is an obvious and easily answered question but i can't tell my ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to software. all i really want to know, in simplest terms, is how can i, with this machine, put my finished songs onto a cd?

thanks a lot guys,
mike

check out cakewalk software, www.cakewalk.com. home studio 2004, now called home studio 2, is pretty fool proof. its very user friendly. look at the n-track recording software at www.fasoft.com, also. it has some pretty favorable reviews. it doesn't seem like that korg has a USB or firewire connection to transfer sound files to your computer... so your best bet would be to go from the stereo output on the D8 into the *LINE* input on your soundcard.

uncool , try the demo of poertracks at pgmusic.com.
i doubt youll go bsck to a d8 again with respect once you
familiarise yourself with powertracks.
29 bucks and does 48 tracks with a ton of editing features built in.
and mix your tracks and burn to cd.
just ask other users at the pg powertracks forum if you dont believe me.
ask them whether they would prefer a d8 over what they get out of
powertracks. i think youll find the answers interesting.
peace.
