Hi,
Not that markert said anything about my post in particular but I would just like to add again that it (korg D16/1600) are very good for what they do and value.

I browsed the Korg D16 yahoo user group for ages before I joined. Most people seemed happy and didn't have problems, but there was always some unfortunate members that you could tell were really in a 'rut'. They were having all sorts of trouble and no one could seem to help. Though it was a minority, I always sort of smiled that my D16 was fine (running smooth) and glad nothing bad had happened. the I found out for my self. The bottom line is, it's one thing having to deal with a faulty machine but it's another problem entirely having to deal with the customer support witch turns out to be more of an ordeal for almost everyone that experienced a problem.

Ignore me.....I'm still bitter.

BTW; I backed my D16 up to the current software by downloading the software and burning it to CDR. I don't know why they told you it couldn't be done by yourself (back to the extra money they want from you). Maybe you upgraded it as soon as it came out.

I have the D1600 , had it now about 2 weeks , I got it out of the box and recorded straight away .... Without reading the manual....

I really like gear I can get in to without reading the manual at first, later I get into reading ....... I have mixed on PC's and but I really am leaning toward standalone devices these days .

Windows is not a good recording OS envirionment

Let me know if you get the D1600 , maybe a section on the korg here , that would be way Cool
