Today I bought a used 05R/W in good condition, but unfortunately no manual. I've managed to download the X5DR manual though, which apparently is similar. My studio at home has a Roland and Yamaha synth, but this is my first ever Korg. I've always been attracted to Korg pads over the years, and I had a tinker with the 05R/W in the shop and liked the sounds. Years ago in a band I used the X5D which is similar. Anyway, some questions I hope some of you can answer:

1. I have a Win XP (home) PC. Is there any software that will control/store the synth settings via MIDI? I mean save voices etc., like XV Editor for Roland, or XG Pad for Yamaha. I want to be able to save all the voices and any effects as a file. Or must they be stored on the unit itself?

2. Can I download patches from the web for it, like the extra sounds on the X5D, and load them into it? If so, where can I find these?

3. Where can I find a manual and a patchlist for this? I've Googled quite a bit but can't find them.

Any other advice you think I'll need, please go ahead!

Cheers Arcaxis - those are some good links!

I've managed to find a manual, which is a big help too...

Thanks,

X5/O5 Editor

Not sure if this helps, but there used to be a X5/05 editor for mac os 6 awhile back... haven't seen anything else since except unisyn, which is a mac thing and not PC. Look for SYSEX files. That will at least get you different patches.
