Thought I would mess around today with a differant kick mic and let you guys listen to what you think about it.
It is about 8 inches in front of the kick front head in the center and I am using one overhead. There is a towel rolled up laying against the back head inside of the kick and one laying on the front head the to help dampen it.Im not gong to mention the mic for now till i get some reviews. My ears are not so good anymore so any help would be nice. Also there is no eq or effects on this track. Thanks

I like the tone. I think the level is a bit low, but all the articulation is there. If it were closer you'de have a but more low end.

Other than that, I don't have any complaints.

It's very useable as far as bass drum tracks go. I agree with Phil - try a little closer for more bottom and punch it up a bit.

Ok thanks guys. I like micing with just two mics and thought I would give my mxl v67g a shot at the kick with a mxl 603 overhead.

Again thanks

Hi. Just curious as to where you placed the overhead? Bye!

The overhead is just two drum sticks just above the snare.
Pointing at the snare.
