Hi all,
Just bought an Apogee Duet to record guitar and vocals, which has been fantastic... But since I've already dropped some serious $ on that, I'd like to not spend a lot on a keyboard.
I'm a bit unsure of what I want.
I've been considering a decent controller like the M-Audio Keystation 61es ($130) and also low-end digital synths like the Yamaha PSR-E423 ($230). I just want to make sure that whatever I buy can be used easily within Garageband as an input device for recording. Overall, the idea of the Yamaha is appealing since it can do so much more than just being a controller.
That said, can garageband capture (ie. record) all the fancy auto-accompanyment and other effects that I produce directly on the Yamaha keyboard?
Also, if anyone has used both (or generally any keystation vs. any yamaha), how is the key feel? I know I need to take my lazy ass down to the store and just try them out but I thought I'd ask to see if there were any opinions.
Lastly, if anyone has any better alternatives to recommend that would be great too!
Best,
Indica
