Keyboard with audio interface ?

Hey Guys,

I would like to change my current audio interface (TonePort UX-1) for a better one, and preferably with Firewire. I also want to buy a keyboard, a basic one to do some arrangements, nothing fancy.

I was wondering if I could buy a keyboard with an audio interface integrated. I need to be able to plug my preamp in, so I will need to mic Inputs. Does that even exist? Or do I need to buy it separetly?

Yep, they exist:

Whether any particular one is a good idea, I don't know. I have a vague sense that there used to be more of them out there on the market than there are now, which suggests either:
- maybe they're not such a good idea;
- or maybe they're just a pain in the neck to market;
- or something else entirely.

The ones in the link are all USB. I'm reasonably confident there were (if there aren't still) Firewire ones. They're presumably available on eBay and here and there.

Why not get a interface with good preamps and Midi ins/outs?

Opt for the interface yes...i think it's a better choice. Much more versatile
