Here's some stuff about key commands that maybe will help someone. I play keyboards so I have my setup like this:

Most of the time when I working on Cubase, and many other programs, I have my right hand on my mouse and my left hand is like this on that long padded rest; my left thumb is anchored on the Apple or Command key:

I have a bunch of newer keyboards but like these old Apples as they are built real well, feel better than most and give me lots of space to label keys:

If you go to the File menu and select Key Commands:

You'll get this magic page: :)

ASSIGNING.jpg

1. select the category you want to assign a key to
2. select the command you want to assign a key to
3. there is no "3"
4. click in the "Type in Key" box and then hit the keys or combination of keys you want to assign to the command
5. hit assign and it will appear in the box above
6. if you want to delete a key command select the key command in the upper right hand box and then hit the small (ambiguous ) trash can icon

When you're pau (finished) hit OK and it will be saved:

I have a lot of keys assigned. Helpful ones are the F keys:
F2 Save
F3 Mixer
F5 Audio Files Folder
F8 Device Setup
F9 Export Audio File
F10 Import MIDI File
F11 Export MIDI File
F12 Audio Pool
F13 new Left Locator Position
F14 new Right Locator Position

Those last two are real time savers. What helps is to have the left hand changing tools, saving, going to edit modes, changing quantize amounts etc... while the right is doing the mouse, that speeds things up a huge amount. Faster than working with one hand. There's a lot more but this post is so long anyways.
