Hi all,
I want to buy something decent to amplify my keys (yamaha S90, korg trinity), my sampler (Yamaha A4000) and all pc's soft synths.
Now I'm using my hi-fi, but it's too bad...

Is better to buy a kind of little PA system or a Studio monitor (like the new m-audio's...)???

Consider that I want also to listen music in the relax time and, eventually, to mix my songs with the same system (the last has low priority...)

P.S. I don't need much power, because I've to use it only in my home studio...

Do you have a mixer? I assume you do, or at least a multi input soundcard...

There are dedicated keyboard amps that sound great, mainly because they're made specifically for key's. But there are almost infinite options for your stated needs.

Are you running everything through a mixer to your hifi?

Instruments, especially keyboards through hifi can cause damage pretty easily if you're not careful.

If you've got a mixer or multi input soundcard, and it doesn't need to be too powerful, and especially if you mix with the same system, I think some good monitors would be the best solution.

yes, I've got two separate mixers (one digital for recording into the pc and the other analog for listening the output sources), so I don't have this problem.
I'm happy to listen that monitors work well with keys, because they are the first option in my personal list.

I like much also dedicated key amps, like the roland kc300, but I must have a stereo system...

and what can you say about listening music with monitors? (I've to replace my broken hi-fi)

thanks

I can say "monitors are the way to go!"

But those key amps like the roland are pretty cool for jamming loud, just not mixing.
