Hi, Are the Kel mics large, medium or small diameter microphones? Thanks, Don

The diaphragm is 1/2 inch, making it small in my book. It is side address, however, like most LDC's, so a picture without scale can be deceiving.

The HM-1 is a small 1/2 element.
It is small in size as well.

What are you thinking of using it on. It is a verry different sounding mic.

Thanks

Hi, Thanks for the replies. I was going to use one or two for drum O/H.

They do sound good for O/H mics. Kind of a darker sound but in a good way.
I also like them on guitar cabs and a violin.

I have an HM1. Great mike. Natural sounding.

1/2" diaphragm.

Whether you call that small or medium just depends on your terminology.

Its a great mic. Very useful on guitar cabinets, recently nudging its way past my 25 year old SM57 UnidyneIII's
which have never failed to get 'that sound' for electric guitars. The HM1 is darker but not as grainy so placement will be an important part of your engineering skills. It can take a good number of dbs so hurting it is not an issue....however, having a pad inline or one at the input is a wise choice.

The moneyback guarantee with a very resonable trial timeline makes this mic, without a doubt, one of the best bargains in this business.

I was lucky and got a matched set for $69 each when they first came out. Now they are at $129. I wonder if any improvements or changes have been made.
