It's been a long time since high school but I think they still teach composition and punctuation.

Lose the fücking periods and just write a sentence.

Be Careful

M1, you really should know who your speeking to before you use words and attitude like that ......Midwest? ...where abouts:D

Thanks

Moresound, thank you for you reply...What mics would you suggest???:D

Sorry about the attitude.

I see so much Scheise on the internet that I don't think they teach anything in school any longer. If they do, no one is learning.

So whom do I have the pleasure of this conversation?

Lets see you have a LDC right? Then maybe a matching pair of SDCs and say a Shure SM57 or other dynamic microphone.
I would have to ask what you plan on recording and how many tracks at a time before going to much further.

Welp, since you asked.... :D

Unless you have some time invested in learning ProTools (and fuck it even if you do), I'd select one of the many much more flexible and less expensive softwares out there. ProTools limits you to ONLY Digi or select MAudio equipment and I beleive there are limitation to which plug-ins you can use (some one should fact check that bit- rtas?). I'd check out Reaper ftw.

Also, for some reason, there is a misconception that a Mac is in someway *superior* for audio. I suspect that rumor was initiated by Mac. Unless you have extra money to blow, you can get an equally capable pc for significant savings.

I suggest taking the savings from Reaper and the Mac, invest in a larger set of monitors and add acoustic treatment to your recording and mixing space. After all the PC or a Mac, ProTools or otherwise, wont help you in a bad sounding room (hints; don't use foam, check out the studio construction forum here).:)

No harm done

M1 no harm done but I will not speak to anyone like that until I know what I'm up against ......Anyway, my name is Ray

Great thought

Moresound ,thanks I take a look at those tomarrow.....I appreciate the help

Interesting

Jeff D, From the stand piont of computers and software there are so many ways to go.....You may be right that mac may have created the rumor...How ever some people are mac people and some are pc people ...I think that starts with what was in the house first ....Thanks for the help...Ray

The KRK's are awesome! Pro tools solid, and MAC, well idk bout that. Justy kidding. Im a PC guy, but your combo sounds like it should serve you well.
Good luck!:D

Yeah, I'd do that too. That's a lot of cash, and it's best to spread the cash around equally to all different parts of your HR studio for now!

All that and add a few new microphones to your locker to be more diverse.

he left out the 'with',

just thought it was funny, given the context.

I caught it, Stenamaroo.
If the gentleman in question had any decency at all, he'd go back and replace his first post with an apology rather than leaving it up for all to see.
Not a nice way to greet anyone.
Welcome aboard, Strat Catt. :)

 Wow man.......................... Wake up with a hangover or sometihng?????????????????????????????????? :p Pretty catty there........................................................................................................................................

Anyway, to the OP,that's a good start! Beyond that I'd go for an sm57 or and audix i5 or something, great workhorse mics for a lot of different applications. How's your room? Good acoustics go a long way, ie bass traps and broadband absorption panels are a huge bang for the buck if you have nothing. And welcome to the board!
