hi my name is jason and i am very much interested in setting up my own personal studio. my love for music and recording has caused me to read countless books for countless hours but i do not have the hands on skills that are also necessary to be succesfull in the recording process. but anyway my question is what is your opinion on me getting an MPC2000STUDIO for my drum tracks, a simple midi keyboard, and a multitrack recorder for mixdown???? can i get started with a set up like that?? i read the appendix for the MPC this website and i know with a lot of practice i can master it in no time at all

"i know with a lot of practice i can master it in no time at all"

Well, I reckon one reason you're so confused is because you come from Miami, home of confused people. But what do I know? I don't even live in Miami.

So, why do I think you're confused? Well, check the quote above and study it for a while... a lot of practice takes time, right?

As for this bit:

"my love for music and recording has caused me to read countless books for countless hours but i do not have the hands on skills that are also necessary to be succesfull in the recording process."

Well, dudolingam, it's time to stop reading books, and actually start recording. You'll learn more from that than from books. Trust me.

I think that the setup you are configuring is a good one. :)

AND..........

To paraphrase dobro.... "The best way to learn how to record, etc. is to actually start the recording process, A.K.A. self motivated, hands-on training"
