Hi all...

I've been mostly lurking for a while checking out everyone's thoughts on audio interfaces. I was quite confused about where to start but after reading tons of useful info on this site I decided to go with the M-Audio Delta 1010LT.

Thanks to everyone who participates on this forum!

I ordered a 1010LT recently, and i'm really scared right now. I don't know what's going to happend.

I've seeing the pictures like a 100 times, and i'm still curious about the traditional stereo output, that i don't see in any part of the card.

it has 8 outputs that comes from the 8 inputs, and the SPDIF, but i don't have a Dolby Decoder.

How's this thing about the normal Stereo Wave mapper ?

where's the connection ?

Just a quick question. Does anyone have a 1010LT hooked up to a Mackie mixer (I specifically have a 1604 VLZ)? If so, what's your set up look like? How are you connecting the inputs on the 1010LT to the channels on the board?

Thanks for your help.

The 8 outs don't have to 'come from' the 8 ins. The first 2 outputs can be setup as a monitor mixer. That's where you hear what your recording, as well as what's been recorded, as well as all other mp3, wav files etc.

With the other 6 outputs, you can create submixes, route signals back to your mixer etc.

If that mixer has direct outs from each channel, that would be the easiest way. Otherwise you can use the inserts

I don´t have a Mackie but I do have a MG 16/4 mixer hooked to my Delta 1010lt. What I've done??? Use the insert/send and connect 1/4 plugs until the first click and hooked each one into the Delta ins. Right now i'm using individual cables but there are TS-RCA snakes that will make your life easier.
Search for my I just bough a MG 16/4 Yamaha mixer, there are some snake brands recommendations.

I´m looking for a pair of XLR-1/4 plug cables to use the Delta 1&2 ins as line level.

Yeah those first two inputs with the pre's are pretty much useless to me, since I can't get them to record without clipping even when the inputs are all the way down.

But the card is pretty nice, I'm gonna eventually get two channels of SPDIF (I think it's a stereo input) so I can record 8 channels simultaneous, then I guess I should look into using those two XLR inputs to go for 10.

The manual is a little confusing at first, but once you learn to deal with the monitor mixer and all the controls, it will make things a lot easier... It sadly took me about a week or so to figure it all out and I'm really not that dumb.

go to the website and read the manual ahead of time to get familiar with it so it isnt overwhelming when you get it.

Hi Chris,

I have an 1010LT hooked up to a Mackie 1604 desk. Basically I have the desk running into my sound card via the inputs on the sound card (cream cables) using TRS (Tip Ring Sleeve) for the mixer and RCA for the sound card. My monitors are running out of channel 5/6.

Hope this helps!

Good luck!

Our board is so loaded up that we are using the tape in/outs.

Do you have the XLR inputs set up as line-in or mic-in, with the jumpers on the board (1010lt board that is)?

Yeah, I was wondering how it would do for games and other types of playback, but it works as any other soundcard in that respect.

I guess you guys had more luck than I did. I purchased a factory resealed Delta 1010LT, and the XLR ins did not work properly at all. They had noise on the line with nothing plugged in, and even when a dynamic mic was plugged in, nothing else happened.
