This has a lot of promise...I really liked it

the drums and vocals were a little too dry...vocal could have been a bit louder and maybe some reverb will stop the kick sounding a little boxy

but the whole tune just grooves along and a liked all the performance just needed a little more tightness (like I play all that tighly lol)

good job dude :)

Haha the kick does suck the head is at least 7 years old needs to be changed. shoulda been changed a long time ago:)

The ride and hats are awfully loud compared to the rest of the kit. Can't even hear the kick.

The guitars sound okay, but they're way squeaky. Nice playing though.

The vox need some delay or verb to help them sit in the mix.

probably...considering you havent been to the movies in over 6 years...

You could have gotten 45 heads in the money you saved not going to the moving pictures...

NOt a bad tune. Everything sounds o.k. The vox sound close kinda? And the snare and thkick sound pretty mundane too. Fatten the kick and maybe bring er up in the mix and give the snare some room or overall some more room mic presence or something?

The mic i used on the guitars was a crap condenser that has a bump in the hi mids. I've been trying to remove the squeak forever Im inept on how. Thanks for the feedback dudes and dudets.:D

remove squeak = lift fingers off strings...

or file the grooves off your finger prints.. one or the other.

Sometimes you cant avoid the squeak. it will be inevitable sometimes.

But listening to your tune, i think 80% of your string squeakers can be avoided by lifting your fingers a bit.

Well to late for that the guitarist is now a 12 hour flight away:)

my next mix will KICK the woofers out of gregs monitors:)

There's nothing i can tell you about the mix that someone hasn't said before. As for the song, i liked it, i like the vocals too. Good job!

I know what's happening. I even do it myself sometimes, and I'm a drummer. You track the drums first, and build on top of them. Perfectly fine. But since the drums went first, you're past them and focusing on other elements of the song. As the song builds, the drums get more and more buried. All you gotta do is turn stuff down to get the kick and snare back. By the time vocals and backups are added, you've got layers of guitars, bass, keys, ooohs, ahhhhs, and whatever else on top of the drums and they're taking your attention away from the most important part of any beat - the Boom/Whack. You know it's there, but it's lost it's power. You're too focused on guitar tone and vocals to notice. Poor drums. :(
