as someone who has commissioned numerous techs to do work for me on numerous occasions i find that when folks who are skilled at this kind of work publish this kind of info, all it does is solidify in my mind that i need to find someone with greater skill, experience and better tools than i have. i believe that this is often the case for other folks as well.

Hey folks, be fair! Gus is the person who SHARED TONS of unique knowledge on mics... most of it you won't find in microphone books, etc. just make a search on Prodigy.
I understand his point though--it is hurtful for a designer to say something and then nobody pays any attention--exactly the point when (was it John Klett, who said that?) you say: "Hey, don't use a square wheel, use a round one--round works the best." And as an unswer you hear: "Then I'll try octagonal, next".
It is hurtful for a designer to see how somebody lifts your schematics even without giving you a little credit, etc, etc, etc.
So yes, there is always another side of the story ;)

Best, M

It sounds like there is some bad history and hurt feelings in all this. That's still no excuse to come over here and interject an asinine comment like that. If he's worried about you spilling great secrets, he should contact you personally.

We've had problems in the past with the Spam Police - we don't need any visits here from the Schematic Police. :)

I was having some fun with Marik. However people getting upset is kind of funny.

Phil It is not in my interest to tell: However I do leave HINTS, pay attention to the hints think about do some reading and thinking and testing. I have spent to much time learning this stuff, a lot of it on my own building measuring testing buying books test gear like a curve tracer etc. You can't find this stuff all in one place or anywhere at all it seems. If you are far enought along the hints might help. OK I won't leave hints.

Remember what you read on the web might be worth what you pay for it.

I pay $40 a month and I get much more than my money's worth. If you know how to pick and choose and edit, and separate the good shit from the bullshit, you can get a university education for cheap.

Anyway, thanks for your hints. I didn't realise you weren't serious with your comment.

I think we should all be greatful and appreciate the wealth of information that is freely given here. Makes me wish I had more edgeecation. (life is just too short to learn everything about everything LOL)
