Need help on mixing a track, giving it better quality. ANY TIPS???

Uploaded a track to myspace, no mixing or anything on that, so could you help me form that track on what we need to use?

I would ask this in another forum like mixing/mastering or recording techniques. Also, mixing doesn't make a badly recorded track sound good. Get a good sound at the source. You shouldn't have to mix a well recorded track that much.

Bloodtrend...I'm gonna check out your track later...just an FYI I don't think your signature is going to display your link as an image like that. I think you'd need different coding. Just pull out the IMG SRC tag and replace it with "My Space Page"

I listened to your track and I'm not sure what you're looking for as a sound. Quality can be pretty subjective. I think it sounds pretty noisy and I can't distinguish a single thing you're singing about but that may be what you're trying to sound like, dunno.

Try posting this in the clinic for critiqueing, you'll get alot of reviews there.

You're missing a w in the address link up there. Do you work in the White House? :D

Thats the best sound I can get out of my guitar for now, but I'm picking up a Pod XT Live soon, so the sound should be of better quality. Also (I better ask about this in the drum section) my drummer uses an electric kit when we record so that's why it was sounding a bit tinny or whateva. And I think I was a bit to close to the mic too, maybe standing a bit further away could help????

Not if you're using a pop filter (in your case you might need 5 or 6 :D )

The more you move away from the mic (in general) the less it will pick up the nuances of your voice. However, no offense, but that is really only an issue for singing. If you're not compressing your style of vocals then yes, move away from the mic. Anytime I've ever seen artists in major studios they're always up on that pop filter like its part of their mouth.

If anything the singer's tendency is to move too far away.

From the sounds of it, your vocals are only going to get so clean...but if thats what you're going for then you're good on that. Might just pull them down in the mix a tad. I had a brief listen a few days ago and the only thing that stuck out was that the guitar sounded too dirty and the drums didn't sound full or crisp. Definately try to get him to play through a real kit. I would focus on those and not worry about vox much right now though.
