I've got a Meek VC1 and love it for vocals and acoustic guitar. The preamp alone is very nice, warm and rich. The compressor can go from light and mild to chunky and squashy without ever sounding bad. It's also great on electric guitar.

I just got a q3. All the wonderful things you hear/read about it is true. I'm one who likes to HEAR the difference a pre amp makes, and the compression and eq on the meek really do it. I've recorded several bass tracks...some straight into the line in, others sending a miced amp signal. Both methods render incredibly warm thick sounds. Can't wait to try it on vocals!!

i have a vc6q and i love it....i track with it and its great. Also its great to put in the signal chain between the guitar and amp....talk about making an amp scream...its awsome.

I'll second Michael's comments above. I just got a MQ3 out of the box, turned up the generic "compression" control, fiddled a bit with eq and recorded a bass track - awesome!

I have an older VC3Q (no enhancer - it's a preamp, Meequalizer and optocompressor) and I love it on bass, guitar, vocals, drums, and every percussion instrument I've tried.

I love the obvious, musical compression on the late Joe Meek's recordings, too.
