Hey guys, Alan, whoever- I'm a little S/PDIF challenged, here, so help me out. If you want digital out on a VC1Q, you need a VC1QD. If you want to use the 2 channels of a twinQ, do you need 2 VC1QD's?- Chessrock, I'm convinced. Even though the little Octava's actually *love* the DBX386, I need to upgrade my tewbs for vocals!-Richie

The problem arises when using the twinQ as 2 discrete mono pres. What I don't know is whether the converter has one or 2 s/pdif outs, and whether both sides of the twin Q accept their own converter card-Richie
P.S.- see, I told you I was S/PDIF challenged- If the digital outs are stereo, does that mean you can only use this pre as 2 discrete pres in analog format? Does that also apply to all other 2 channel digital devices (DBX386, TC electronics M300, etc.)? I know each of these units only has 1 S/PDIF RCA out jack, and I'm presuming, perhaps incorrectly, that this provides a discrete digital out for both channels. If you have a one channel device w/ S/PDIF out (POD Pro, VC1Q, etc.), does it output the same signal X2? Being an old rocker, I comprehend analog pretty well from a practical perspective, but digital routing formats are giving me a minor headache-Richie

Thanks, carmen, but I've seen it and unfortunately, it does *not* tell all. It tells you exactly what it does w/ VC1QD, but not how that relates to a dual channel preamp. But thanks for trying, anyway-Richie

C7sus- Thank you. I was agonizing over VC1Q vs. twinQ, and I think that made my decision for me.-Richie
