Joe Meek MQ3

I think it is going to suit your needs just fine. I've never heard a bad word about it. I own a Joemeek VC6Q, its bigger brother (same sound, more flexible) and it's a great toy.
 
I have 2 VC3Q's and they do really nice on all of the applications you mentioned.....especially nice on vocals......
 
A great product, kind of a "sm57" in the world of voice channels IMHO.
Also handy for live work too since it's so portable and has phantom power.

sorry to pop out of nowhere. but, do you use the 3Q alone with any other outboard gear? if so, how do you go about hooking them up?
