I was going to ask you the same question. The difference is that you launched a defense before you found out.
You're not the only one who noticed that either.

Haha, actually I will be there this year and I'm very much looking forward to some proper beer.
I'll try to find a friend with a car and then we can hunt some good stuff down! There are a tonne of generic lagers and bitters around, but a good ale will make you want to stay!!

 What does that mean? Are you bringing bodyguards to duff me up if I put a conversational foot wrong?

"Yeah so, these mics, they're made in China right?"
"Justin, Brent, take him outside."

  :D :D

American slang old man.... Like when you say your in Barney!. In force means we will have all the main guys there at the show. Fully manned to answer all questions and deal with the heavy traffic of people who will come to the booth....

If you want us to duff you up we can do that too, but I prefer to get a bit pissed first....

Try to track down a pint of Smithwicks (pronounced Smidicks) while you're over there... brewed in Ireland but one of the smoothest ales that'll ever pass your lips...

I know ... just checking :)

I can bring a printout of your favourite DJL and Chessrock posts if you like

MOFO Pro - I don't know the area they're staying at but we'll see what can be found. There's hundreds of good beers to be had ... maybe I'll take some samples down for them. You have to educate these people when you get a chance ;)

Since Mr. Hyatt is here, I have to ask a question. and I hope he's man enough to answer.

how does it feel to sellout your own country Mr Hyatt?

business owners like you who :
take advantage of slave labor in china,
do business with a country who slaughtered students in Tiananmen Square, could care less that we will lose countless manufacturing jobs so you can flood the market with cheap goods.

how do you sleep at night? don't the ghosts of executed chinese political prisoners who just want a little democracy haunt you at night?

or do you just have no soul?

I'm just curious.

So we're doing ethical consumerism now too, are we? I guess you've never bought a Nike or a Gap product in your life, and that all the products you consume are fairly traded? I know I struggle to drink coffee that doesn't carry the Fair Trade logo ... but then I just found out that there are multiple companies that qualify for that logo except that they do too much business. So large-scale Fair Trade is somehow unfair. Hmmm.

I imagine your house contains nothing produced in China. Lucky you if you're able to source electrical consumer products such as TVs and computer parts that were never near the place - I'm sure you get the quality and clear conscience you paid for.

Look - I know what you're saying, and I know that it's a tricky topic. But surely you realise that taking jobs away from the people will not help them? There's only one thing sadder than a poor person working a terrible job - and that's a poor person who has no prospect of employment and so no way of supporting their family or trying to get themselves out of the poverty trap.

I hope, by the way, that you also pin letters to the offices of Behringer, Panasonic, Samson, ADK, SE Electronics, Toshiba, Samsung, Philips, Coca Cola, Nike, Gap, Puma, Nestlé, Creda, Microsoft, Soundcraft and so on. It wouldn't be fair to pick one company out, now, would it? :)

Ok DJL - if you're going to post something, please don't delete it afterwards!! I get sent it in my email as soon as you post it anyway!

hmmm.... ND = AH?
That's actually quite funny.

If you read what I said you will see that I did not defend the use of near-slave labour, nor did I say that the situation in China is a good thing. I just think that, whilst the guy makes a good point, the solution to the problem does not lie solely with the manufacturers but with the governments of the countries involved.

Suggesting that PMI, Soundcraft or anyone else should make their products uncompetitive by paying more for their manufacturing is only going to fall on deaf ears, whatever you or I think about the matter.

Does this mean it gets your approval?

If you think that spamming my mail box with crap like this will stop my posting and speaking my mind, you're sorely mistaken. Grow up.
