I've tried their tech support but they've been kinda slow helping, thought I'd give the bbs a shot. I'm getting nervous though, I'm afraid I'm going to be out my 200 bucks!

I recieved some sort of error while running Ozone through Cool Edit 2000. My PC froze and I had to force log out. Now Ozone doesn't work! I get no output and the visual meters indicate nothing at all. Oddly, I get output when in bypass mode. Everything seems fine in the options windows. Would it hurt to uninstall, and reinstall the program again?

Thanks all,
werewolf

Yes...a reinstall would be advisable...lame sure its removed from the regisrty as well.
Are you using this as a plug-in within CEP ?

"lame sure it's removed from the registry as well."

I'm not sure I read you Stealth. Make sure? How do I do that?
And yes, it is a Direct-X plug in for CE2K. I refreshed the list, and still nothing.

BTW, when I recieved the error, it did say that Cool Edit made the error, yet Cool edit works just fine.

hee hee...that was a typo...I meant to say make sure.
If you look through the registry you should see something in reference to ozone...the uninstall will more than likely remove it auto...though.
May be a compatibility issue dont really know. I've never had errors with Logic and Ozone, but its more stable and plug in friendly than CEP.

Use a process of elimination. Uninstall ozone and try using some other plugs in CEP. If she's steady than more than likely ozone has someting to do with it. Reinstall and try again...if the error persists than ozone support may be the only possible way to find out whats up.

If Ozone doesn't get back in a couple days, I will try this and see what happens. Sounds logical enough though. Thanks Stealth.

try running you plugin manager first, disable Ozone, reboot, restart you main sequencer and check that eveythings fine there without Ozone. It could be a problem with the handling of plugins. Then enable Ozone in your plugin manager again, reboot the machine and try if it works. If not, uninstall Ozone and make a new installation from scratch.

BTW: do you have Ozone II? I consider getting it. It is worth the money?

i have my computer set up so that reformating doesn't lose anything except the programs (which i can reinstall from their disks). i think this is a neccesity for those of us doing recording on computers. every once in a while (pretty much every month) something will jack the computer and by process of elimination 1) uninstall offending party, 2) reboot, 3) reinstall, 4) repeat 1-3 a second time, 4) reformat disk, 5) eff it and stick with what was working.

willovercome -- why would you want to re-format the hd?? I never had a situation over the last 15 years or so where I was forced to do this. Can you explain?

Thanks for responding guys, I just got back from a concert and am too tired to try any of these idea, so I'll try tomorrow or Friday.

And yes Giga, I have Ozone 2.0. I've never used another mastering type software before, but I really like what Ozone does. For the money I think it beats trying to get similar plugs elsewhere. And Ozone does sound a helluva lot better than the plugs Cool Edit offers (my host application).
later fellas.

sounds like cep lost or miss config the dx plugin dir, try an refresh the dx-vst list dir, just a thought...

THANK THE MAKER, IT WORKS!!!!!

This is weird, but I had to uninstall and install two times before it worked. First I uninstalled it, after I reinstalled, it still had all the same probs, and all my settings and presets WHERE STILL THERE! So I uninstalled again, now it works like a charm. Thanks fellas.
