My recording computer was left out in a car in wisconsin (cold) for the last month on accident. I brought it in and let it sit a few hours before trying to start it but something is wrong. When i click start it the tower powers up and all the lights turn on. THen the cr drive (i think that is what is making the noise at least) makes a noise like it should and the light on it come on. But then the green cd-drive light goes off (and sometimes turns yellow) and a long beep happens. if i leave it on this keeps happening and nothing comes onto the monitor. Please help me i will be incredible grateful.

I think you may have moisture condensation inside. Unplug it, take the side off (case) and get A good look in there. How long has it been inside? (your house) If not more than A couple of hours, this should be the problem. Blow dry, (hair dryer) on LOW heat-careful not to let the dryer stay in one place too long. Since it has been out in your car for so long, It may not work, but it is worth A try.

i dont think moisture is the probem. i think something might have been disconnected. It has been in for about 4 days

Check the manual for your motherboard for beep codes. Anything other than a little blip is usually an error report. Hopefully you'll find some help there. If not, try disconnecting the CD-ROM drive. Can you tell if the HDDs are spinning?

If you are still having problems, disconnect the HDDs. Can you tell if they are spinning? You may have an issue with the PSU.

Are all the fans that are connected to the main board or graphics card spinning? How about the ones that are connected straight to the PSU?

Does the monitor do ANYTHING? Alot of times the sort of flicker or there is at least something you can see.

thanks for the help. I fixed it though. I opened up the case and made sure all the connections were in, i forgot to turn it off though and when i was on the 3.5 disk drive it turned on. THe connection is bad but at least it works and if something happens again i will know how to fix it. thanks for the help.
