Hey guys, I've been around here for quite some time (a couple of years) gathering information and slowly purchasing things to build my "Home Studio"

I'm taking some vacation time in a couple of weeks and I'd like to get everything up and running, but I'm sure that I will need a lot of guidence along the way....so......

Is anyone willing to take me under their wing and corrispond with me when I take the dive to hooking and setting everything up??? :)...........Please?

Here's a list of what I've got (all items have been purchased as a result of extensive research, mostly on this BB. :) :

Good PC - Dell 2.8Ghz, 80 GHD, 268ram....blah, blah..

Cool Edit Pro w/ adobe audition update (Haven't used or installed it yet)

Delta 1010

DMP-3 and a SP VTB-1 preamp(s)

2- DBX 136X compressors

Studio Projects C1 & B3

Shure Beta 57 & 58

Shure SM 57

2 - Sennheiser E609 original blackface ones

Monitors - I haven't purchased them yet, but will in the next couple of weeks (WarfeDale 8.2a's )

Only other thing that I can see me needing in the near future would be a good set of closed headphones for tracking purposes (Senn's or something, 100 buckish)

So what do you think so far???

UHmm....any takers???

Thanks in advance!!

Rick

wow i really wish i would of known about this site before i started purchasing

that looks like the "ideal" start
nice job putting that all together

just get those Wharfedales and it indeed will be the ideal starting set up

i think

A slightly cheaper and still excellent suggestion on the headphones would be the Audio-Technica ATH-M40fs ($70) vs. the Sennhesier HD280Pro ($99). Although they offer just slightly less isolation (barely noticeable difference), I've found the M40's to be much more comfortable for extended wear than the HD280's, and they have perhaps a slightly less hyped, flatter response.

more ram!! MORE MORE MORE!!!!! BWAHAHAHA

....no, but seriously, 268 is going to hold you back from doing a lot of stuff you want to do.
sounds like a nice, simple setup. you should be up and running in no time. but ask away if you have questions.

Uh...sorry about that, ...it's a type "O"...

I actually have 768 ram.

Thanks for the responses so far!!

you could always check out those "more me" headphones for tracking. they're 20 bucks and are pretty much perfect if all you need are some headphones for tracking
