Ok for years now I have plugged everything into a power strip and the second power strip was powered from the first power strip. When I go into my little studio I turn the switch on the first power strip that turns everything on except the monitor amp. The main power strip turns everything on with one switch.. I leave all the switches to modules, effects, mixers, drum machines, etc. on all the time and just use the one switch.. Do you think it will hurt anything in the long run?

You should be okay turning effects and stuff on that way as long as they aren't power amps or tube gear. You may have problems by turning them off though and they may not save the current patch you have edited or little problems like that. I don't think you will hurt anything.

I've been doing EXACTLY what you've been doin for 4 years now
and have NEVER, EVER, had a PROBLEM WHATSOEVER!!!

I use approx 23 "DANGLING POWER STRIPS"!!!
