Is this possible..???

Is it possible to use an audio interface such as a Tascam US-122
for its PHANTOM POWER on a mixer / multi-tracker such as a Tascam 424 mk2
I would like to hook up a condenser mic to my 424 mk2, but unfortunately it does not have phantom power.
I didn't want to try it out, without asking first.
Has anyone ever tried this before?...I just figured I would be able to cut corners, by not buying a seperate phantom powered box.

You want to use the US-22 as a microphone preamp.

Very unconventional, but it does have line level outputs with level control. It actually may work.

Just be sure to plug the line level output of the US-122 into a line level input of the 424 mk2. Start with all the levels turned off and bring them up slowly and see what you get.

kinda worried that I might blow somethin in my 424 mk2..
I'm pretty new to the whole recording thing,..I'm a female musician,..
play a little bit of drums, guitar,...and synths.
Do you mean the 1/4 inch ins, or the rca ins on the line level inputs (sub input)..
forgive me,..like I said, I'm new to this.

So 1/4" output from the US-122 to 1/4" mic/line input on the 424 mk2.

The US-122 must be in a direct monitor mode of some sort.

Salt and pepper to taste and it should work.
