Hello, i am about to buy the following..

- SENNHEISER E825 S (Microphone 48€)
- M-AUDIO FAST TRACK PRO (Interface 179€)
- BEHRINGER B2030P (Monitors 135€)

Total €€ I Can Give: 370€

And a few questions:
1) My guitar's amp have Line Out.. Can i connect a cable there and directly connected to my interface? I ask this because someone told me that the sound will be awful and better record it with a microphone
2) Will i need a pop filter too?
3) Do you think that i must buy a Large-diaphragm microphone and not the sennheiser?

Hello, i am about to buy the following..
Sounds about right to get you going :)
I assume you have a decent computer?
What about software? Do you intend to use Ableton Live Lite 5 that comes bundled with the interface?
Don't forget you'll need cables for the mic and interface -> monitors.

It most likely will sound better recorded with a mic. The cab speaker(s) play a huge part in the tone of the amp, and so cutting them out doesn't generally sound too good!

Alternatively you can record the guitar direct to the computer then use 'amp modelling' (or "amp sim") software as a virtual guitar amp

2) Will i need a pop filter too?
With the 825? No.
If you got a large diaphragm condenser then yes...

3) Do you think that i must buy a Large-diaphragm microphone and not the sennheiser?
It depends what you intend to record.

For vocals a large diaphragm condenser would probably (but not necessarily) be better, however if you're going to be recording guitar as well then a good dynamic may be better...

but then again I often mic amps with LDCs - there are no rules :)

I have a decent computer.. A core2duo cpu with 2gb ram i think is enough.
I own Audition 3 but do you think that Ableton is better than this? Or do you know which other program could i buy?

I want to record vocals and my guitar's amp with this microphone..

I'm a little scared because i do not want to buy another gear in the near feature.. Will i be pleased with the recording results?

Should be fine.

I would stick with Audition then :) The 'lite' version of Ableton that comes with the interface is very stripped-down and limited anyway.

Hmm, i saw that thomann have a package with the following for 255€

- M-AUDIO FAST TRACK PRO
- STUDIO PROJECTS B1

Do you think that this microphone is better than sennheiser?

Do a quick check on your proposed monitors. The Behringer site says "The TRUTH B2030P is a high-performance passive 2-way studio monitor. ".

The 'P' in B2030P deisgnates 'passive', which means you will need an amp to drive them. So you would go from interface to amp to speakers. Have you got an amp? You may like to consider active monitors which will connect directly to the interface.

I'm somewhat of a noob myself, but based on what I've learned:

1) You can do it, particularly for clean tones, but as soon as you get any crunch in there you will probably be disappointed. I'd recommend mic'ing the amp, but be sure to experiment with mic positioning because it makes all the difference in the world (you won't truly appreciate the truth of that statement until you see for yourself)

2) Always helps. Just make one with some pantyhose and a wire hanger if you want so save some money.

3) Can't really help you here, but I will point out that in my experience using a LDC to mic a guitar amp tends to lead to overly harsh results. I'd recommend a dynamic mic for guitar amps, but you sure can't beat the LDC for crisp, clear vocals.

Thanks both for your help!

Finally i decided to save some more money and buy the following:

- M-AUDIO FAST TRACK PRO & THE T.BONE SC1100 (199€ both)
- KRK RP5 ROKIT G2 (Active Speakers)
- SENNHEISER E825 S (Microphone)
- And a pop filter
