is the stage the only acceptable place for the 57 now?

i know when doing live performances.....i mainly see 57s and 58s all over the place. I did use them in the studio too but i keep hearing about every other mic except the 57 in the studio. whats going on there? do big studios still use it?

Yes, they use them... and not cheap Chinese budget mics.
