Is the Joe Meek VC6 MeekBox, worth buying over PreSonus Blue Tube? I can get a the Joe meek for about $220. Should I go with the Meek, all I need is a mic pre amp for recording a distorted guitar amp.
Are you sure you're not talking about the VC3Q Pro Channel? It runs about $200-$300 new. The VC6Q is the Meek British Channel and runs about $450-$500 new. It would be a waste to use a VC6Q for distorted guitar. But if you can get one of these for $220, buy it. If you don't want it, I'll buy it.
ill repest, if all you are doing is recording a distorted guitar amp, why not use the $99 Art Tube MP?....and by the way, what mic are you using?....money may be well spent on a better mike with the ART than an Awesome preamp with a crappy mike....
1. The Art Tube MP has no proper metering. Thats a pain.
2. It's mono. I'd definitely recommend anybody to get a stereo preamp, because pretty soon you'll either want to record two mics, and you might even want to record something in stereo...
One day when he has the need for all that, he can get it...in the meantime that Art will still be a great lil unit and he could probably get more than he paid for it on Ebay.....
Which do you guys prefer the Joe Meek VC6Q or the Pre Sonus MP20 (not just for distorted guitar )? Soundwise and aside from the fact that the VC6 is a mono preamp.
