Is my microphone faulty? [ Static BG Noise ]

Hey all, I've had my microphone for about 5-6 months now and I've paid no attention to this issue because it's never really phased me much - but now I'm starting to get into vocal covers and music recordings etc.

And my microphone is being weird, it constantly has a "noise" in the background - Vocaroo | Voice message

The gain is at maybe 30% and the microphone volume on windows is at 100.

It could be the microphone but before you assume the worst, try a different cable--it could be a cable/connector problem. You don't mention an interface--if you're using the on-board sound card on you computer that could be the culprit too. they can get pretty noisy.
