I've been hearing about TAXI for a long time now, is this really worth it or is it just alot of hype? Before I fork over that $300 subscription fee, I'm wondering if anyone out there has any experiences, good or bad??

goal...

I produce original hip-hop instrumentals, no samples...definitely a unique sound that's getting alot of strong feedback. I just put out an album of about 13 songs showcasing my work and my hope is that my work can be picked up by some artists. Basically, I'm looking to sell my production work to an artist looking for a new sound...I'm just having a hard time getting this to the right hands, my skills in promotion/marketing are lacking. Asides from the shouts/props/emails I get from those who enjoy music, I'm finding it hard to have my music heard by someone who has the power to spread it to a larger audience...

It's a good way to get feed back on your music. If you have no industry contacts, then there probably the next best thing.

I think Taxi is great for those who are writers, are flexible with what they can write, and want to know what people are looking for.

You are more in the position of an artist (although you're looking for somebody to lay lyrics down on top of your production), so I'm not sure that it would work for you. The only way to find out is to try. I know they offer a money back guarantee, so you have nothing to lose.

You might also way to check out KR Tip Sheet, which is a tip sheet that I run. We have a lot of rap/urban requests come through and the first month is free, so you have nothing to lose by checking it out to see if it's for you.
