is it alright to leave pedals plugged in but off when not in use

I have a boss pedal that powers 7 other pedals, when i leave it plugged in , even when off, i noticed it gets a lil hot, i now leave it unplugged unless im using it,

But i was wondering if that was unnesassary and if I can leave it plugged in the whole time, will it damage anything over time

I'm not an electrician, but if it's getting hot when you're not using it, then it's drawing power, and if it's drawing power then, if you're using a transformer/wall wart thing to power it, you could shorten the life of the transformer.

General rule, for any number of reasons, if you don't need to be using it, turn it off at the wall. This goes for just about all electrical devices, not just musical ones.

i always un plug everything when not in use.just seems the safest
thing to do.
