Is a 60 watt amp loud enough for an outside gig?

hey i have a question i think its a good one also.

Lets say you buy a marshall head and buy 4x12 cab to go with it what is it exactly that makes the good tone the head or the speaker(cabs whatever)? j/c i could probably save money if i knew.
 
I'm almost 100% positive that the head makes more of a difference on the sound than the speaker cab.

The head's gonna be the bigger factor but the speakers in the cab will make a major difference in sound also. i mean think of using 4 Celestions or 4 Eminence. they're gonna sound very different. Still.....you'd have to get the good head first.
 
Well ... I've always said you need to get up for the gig.
