Iphone garageband tempo change help?

hello, and welcome to my first post here!

i've got a bit of a problem. how do i change the tempo in different sections of a song using the Iphone garageband app for the 4s?

i've tried counting out a certain number of measures set at one tempo, and then creating another section to use another tempo, but it seems that the tempo/metronome control is universal--if i set the tempo on one section it changes the beat of the metronome on all the sections.

is there something i'm missing or am i just screwed?

as i stated in the OP, i'm using the Iphone app. not the mac program.
