Peavey ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I recently got Cubase VST 5.0 and I am curious about the online collaboration software, "InWired" and "Rocket Power."

Has anyone here used it? I'm wondering what its advantages are.

Seems like a neat idea, but I can't imagine how long it would take to upload and download the sound files without DSL or cable connections. It is usefull at all?

Thanks,

hi friend, I looked in on the rocket power site. The idea seems good. I havn`t spent much time with it yet, but at first glance; you can download songs, material etc and add your own stuff and then post it and I guess you can post your own songs and invite contribution. I seem to remember reading something about online jamming, but havn`t looked into it yet. Let us know what you find. Slinky

Since my DSL is up and running, I decided to check it out.

A good idea that will, no doubt, come into its own some day. At the moment, however, it seems somewhat limited.

The only thing you can do for free is contribute to public sessions. If you want to start your own project it will cost. The prices aren't bad to start, but I can't imagine the download times for a project that has 20M of audio- and even that would have to be small segments arranged into the song.

To be fair, I was also put off by the quality of the public sessions. If you had a private session and more (quality) control of the work it could be a very valuable tool. Since it is a fee based service (with high prices for high bandwidth, naturally) it seems more suited to the professional than the hobbyist.

Still, its a nifty idea to be able to collaborate with folks on the other side of the country. If I needed to do that this might be a good way.

Chris
